While our members are free to use the Slack Channel to seek help, share advice, and swap resources - below are just a few examples of other special interest groups that aim to support underrepresented groups in STEM fields, including their caregivers.

Black Biomechanists Association


Founded by Kayla Seymore, Dr. Erica Bell, and Dr. Matt McCullough, BBA seeks to provide spaces for interaction and platforms for visibility for Black biomechanists. They also aim to provide mentoring to encourage engagement and retention of Black, Indigenous, and People of Color students and scientists.

Latinx in Biomechanix

Latinx In Biomechanix promotes inclusion and diversity by providing a safe space to discuss our Latinx heritage and support each other in life and research.

Society of Women Engineers

​

SWE is one of the oldest societies for the advancement of women. It has been around for seven decades, and has over 42,000 members worldwide. The mission of SWE is to expand the idea of engineering and technology, and to provide support and training to help women sustain successful careers.

Mothers in Science

​

Founded by Isabel Torres and Sonal Bhadane in 2019, Mothers in Science is the only international organization devoted exclusively to advocating for equity and inclusion of parents and people with caring responsibilities within STEM.


They have an active online community to seek support and be a mentor or mentee for people in similar situations. 

Black in Neuro

​

A space dedicated to celebrating the success of Black Scientists in the neurosciences. They offer mentoring and support, and provide updates for funding opportunities across various countries.

Women In Physics

​

Promote women in physics, share their work, and make their research more visible.

For Women in Science

​

L'Oreal and UNESCO program to support and empower women scientists. Providing funding opportunities, seminars and science promotion.

500 Women Scientists

​

With the motto: "You can't be what you can't see" the group aims to make real change at local and global levels. Join one of their local groups or 'pods' or create your own! Join 500 Women Scientists and join a helpful, supportive movement that is making the world a better place.
